Beautiful Snoqualmie Falls is located East of Seattle and a lovely setting for a short hike.  We visited with our cousin from Sweden and she loved this area.  Seeing The beauty of God's creation is truly inspiring.

Looking at flowers after a long weekend

This weekend our tires with 4,800 miles on them had to be replaced due to a screw in one of them.  If you replace one tire on a Subaru you have to replace them all so several hundred dollars later I am now looking a my flowers in my garden and trying not to be frustrated...  Calmness...

Remembering Them

As you can probably tell the sun is shining this morning!!  We rearranged furniture yesterday.  And here is my favorite table in front of the sunny window with the lovely flowers my brother gave me for Mother's Day!  I love old things and the treasures from my family.  The doily is a gift from a cousin in Sweden.  The lamp is from Jim's mom and that table and the cute little pitcher is from my parents house.  Such sweet memories...

In this dance you can see the costumes that I made for Chimera... I took 4 wedding dresses and made them into 8 dance costumes.  Then the idea was completed with pantaloons.

Mom

Remembering my Mom...She was an amazing lady

There are people in our lives that effect us deeply for good. This set is dedicated to my mother...one of those people for me. She was a true lady...kind and sweet but strong. I put some of the things that she loved into this set. Cherish your parents while you have them!!

Pillowcases Dresses

People can donate pillowcases and they will help the children of Uganda.
Hope 4 Women International/Hope 4 Kids International are collecting new to very gently used pillowcases and taking them to Uganda. We taught the women at Smile Africa Ministries to make dresses out of them. The children pictured are the Karamonjong children. These children were eating out of garbage pits until last year when we partnered with Smile Africa to bring these children in daily to feed them. 420 children arrive daily to be fed, bathed and to be taught reading, writing and arithmetic as well as Bible stories and songs. Many show up in rags or naked.

The project meets the needs of the women to create something as well as training in sewing-this in turn creates jobs for them. The children who own no clothing are filled with joy and dignity wearing these dresses.

In November Hope 4 Kids will lead a team to Uganda. While there Rachel, director of Hope 4 Women International will be hosting a tea party for a group of Pygmy women. At this party women will be pampered with nail polish, lipstick and a foot spa. Each woman will receive gifts of soap, food, a basin and a pillow case dress. (We will make these dresses ahead of time, as we don’t yet have training available for the Pygmy women) We’ve been told the pillow case dresses will fit these women perfectly and the gifts will be beyond anything they could ever attain on their own. We will tell them the reason we do this is because we want you to know how much God loves you and we will share about His son Jesus.

If you would like to take part in this project we need the following items:

1) New or very gently used pillow cases
2) Double fold bias tape
3) ¼”-1/2” elastic
4) Finances to carry out the training and the tea party for the Pygmy women
